Filles des Iles Sensual Floral

Notes: orange and mandarin rinds, gardenia, magnolia buds, ylang ylang, musk, vanilla, amber, benzoin resin

I got a sample of this recently from Beautyhabit.  I'm a sucker for musky vanilla drydowns and am a fan of ylang so I thought there was a pretty good chance that I would like this.  And it was pretty much love at first sniff.   It opens with a citrus peel note along with the already-present musk/vanilla/amber.  The citrus isn't particularly long lasting and its soon replaced by warm floral notes.  I sniffed my wrist all night and put it on my mental shopping list.

The next day, I applied it liberally to my decolletage and was in heaven all morning, afternoon, and into the evening.  By that point, Sensual Floral was no longer on my shopping list because I realized that it smells very similar to PG Ilang Ivohibe, which I already own.  So if you happen to be in love with that painfully expensive scent, give Filles des Iles Sensual Floral a try at about 1/3 the price!
