Rose Belle

posted Friday, 4 April 2008

Pop Beauty has put out a special palette of eight shades of blushing hues, from pale pinky-beige to a deep bronzy rose, called Rose Belle.  Four colors are light, and four are darker, and all are suitable for use on eyes and cheeks.  The darker colors may look brown or bronze in the case, but on the skin they are definitely shades of pink!  I've used both the palest and darkest shades on my eyelids, and swirled my brush over the four colors on both sides to use as blush. It's all good.  The powders are highly pigmented and very soft and smooth, so the texture is perfect for use on the eyelids (I hate scratchy eye shadow!), and they last ALL day (my skin is oily, so YMMV).  I put my makeup on at 6:30 AM, and when I got home from work, I noticed at 6:30 PM that my eyelids were still pink as were my cheeks.

There's a very generous amount of color in the set - probably the equivalent of 3 - 4 normal pans of blush - so it will last a long time.  And it's a steal at $28.  If you like pink, this is for you!  The only thing I don't like about this kit is the case - it's cardboard with a magnetic closure, and the powders are shielded only by a thin square of plastic over each side of the case.  But...better to be something recyclable!

Pop Beauty also has similar kits called Glow Belle and Bronze Belle that are for highlighting and bronzing the skin.
