Pathetic

A statewide smoking ban goes into effect in Maryland at midnight tonight.  A Baltimore Sun article states that, "Customers say they worry about losing their spots at the bar if they go outside for a cigarette."

That's one of the saddest things I've ever read.  Poor, pathetic barflies.  Wait a moment while I get my violin in tune....

As a non-smoker - I've never even had a cigarette to my lips, although I have smoked a cigar in the past - I look forward to being able to breathe easy in local restaurants and actually smell my food rather than the stench of burnt tobacco that eventually clings to my hair and clothing. 

I prefer to reserve my olfactory sense for the sniffing of fine perfumes.  I'm sure you, dear reader, understand.  :)
