Lush's "The Comforter" is completely misnamed. Oh, I suppose something billed as smelling of "berries-and-cream" might seem like it could be comforting, but when the berries are in fact cassis, and the particular cassis scent Lush uses is reminiscent of cat pee.... Need I go any further?
After opening the container, in the presence of a grimacing Mr Minx, I applied a bit to my wrist, despite the stink. And miraculously, after 15 minutes or so, the cat pee goes away and a creamy vanilla aroma emerges. Thank God! The cassis note is still there, reminiscent of the pastilles my grandmother always seemed to have around (always thought the little tin container stunk then, too), but fortunately that slightly-effervescent urine smell had dissipated.
So if you like cat pee, this is the scent for you! Seriously, it's not that bad when it dries down, and even Mr Minx liked it then, so if you don't mind waiting a few minutes with a clothespin on your nose....
