Notes: sweet lime, jasmine, ylang ylang, coconut, tonka bean, pandanus leaf, tamarind, cardamom, cedar
The newest in Jo Malone's stable of fragrances is Sweet Lime and Cedar, supposedly inspired by Thai cuisine. I love Thai food, but I'm sorry, I've never eaten any that tastes like mens cologne. And thank God for that.
The fragrance starts out with a strong lime note, not at all what I would consider sweet. The lime is quickly joined by a lot of woods and a hint of coconut to mellow out the harsh edge of the lime. Later, some tamarind comes in to continue the tart theme.
Sweet Lime and Cedar reminds me of any number of mens fragrances on the market today, although obviously more well-blended than any of them. But otherwise, nothing special.
