...I Don't Swallow.
Luckyscent.com has finally started selling Etat Libre D'Orange fragrances (what took you so long? This company seems like such a good fit!) so one doesn't have to make a special trip to Bendel's to buy them anymore.
They always come up with the best descriptions, so I'm going to use Lucky Scent's:
With its breezy lily of the valley, airy jasmine, clean orange blossom and lady-like aldehydes, Don’t Get Me Wrong Baby I Don’t Swallow is prim, proper and well-behaved. The Good Girl vibe of the scent is shocking given the suggestive name, and therein lies the genius of the fragrance. But is the girl really all that innocent? Under the angelic whiteness of cool florals, isn’t there hidden a dark, edible, subtly animalic depth of patchouli, amber, cacao and marshmallows? Is this perfume all about resistance and nothing about surrender? Smell for yourself and find out. We already know how the story ends but we don’t smell and tell.
Despite the ridiculous name, this is my favorite of ELDO's many scents. On me, it's all innocent florals - pretty lily of the valley and orange blossom - and then the drydown is more floral with a little bit of sweet. Nothing animalic, nothing dark. Just pretty and light and pleasant. And I don't know why I haven't yet bought a bottle for myself. Maybe now that mail order is so easy, I'll sneak a bottle in with my next sample order....
Notes: jasmine, aldehydes, lily of the valley, orange blossom, solar amberey accord, patchouli, cacao, musk, guimauve
