Secrete Datura

Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
Secrete Datura

Notes: leafy green, orange blossom, heliotrope, neroli, jasmine, hyacinth, ambergris, musk, vetiver, cedar

Secrete Datura is one of those fragrances where it's hard to pinpoint whether I am smelling particular notes or not because it reminds me so much of something else I've smelled before.  In this case, that something else is Johnson's Baby Lotion.  But somehow less babyfied.  It's definitely floral, perhaps slightly orangey, like baby aspirin orange or creamsicle orange.  There's an overall soft creaminess to the scent; a few minutes in it becomes obvious that it is the heliotrope note, with its almondy quality.  There are traces of jasmine and hyacinth under the almond, and eventually, the baby lotion quality is replaced by soft florals and a base of musk.  I don't get the vetiver at all, nor the cedar, which is a shame.

It might sound to you that I don't like Secrete Datura. Au Contraire, I find it a very pleasant scent and to date it is probably my favorite in the Maitre Parfumeur line.

Not that I've particularly liked anything from MPG.
